Tess, A New Musical is an indie-folk musical adaptation of Tess of the D’Urbervilles, following the story of Tess Durbeyfield as she struggles to financially support her family and recover from the trauma of a sexual assault. Writer and composer Annie Mullee reframes the story to center on the community of women and highlights the injustices experienced by those escaping abuse. This tale of tragedy and empowerment is sure to spark conversations while satisfying your ears with a gorgeous folk-rock score.
